GEORGIA STATE RAILROAD MUSEUM REVIEWS
I grew up building model railroads and could safely be called a rail geek. I've been to a few rail museums and this was one of the best. Incredible to not only see such a variety of restored cars and equipment but to also see so much of the infrastructure. A great place to visit for kids and adults.
Super cool place! We did a hard hat tour with my class and it was awesome. The tour guide was super knowledgeable and showed us around the whole place. You can even go on the train in the turntable for a little ride. There is a lot of history at this place and it was really fun to learn about everything.
We enjoyed a nice afternoon touring the grounds. There was an old round house with several locomotives and train cars. Several old buildings that were once used on a regular basis. Staff on-hand to give information and offer guided tours. There was also a children's section with various activities. During certain times, there is a short train ride available also.

DAVENPORT HOUSE MUSEUM REVIEWS
This is a wonderful organization that has done amazing work saving many of the homes in Savannah (and now the surrounding area) over the past century. The tour of the house is a unique reconstruction of an upper middle class home in Savannah (circa mid 1800s)--really worth a visit! Great and passionate tour guides. Also you can get married in their garden on Valentine's day!
It’s always nice to learn the history and how people live at certain historical period. For sure Davenport House is perfect example of showing us how the, not poor neither wealthy, family lived in mid 19 century. Tours are running every half hour. We enjoyed our tour and thorough explanation of tour guide.
Great tour! Learned a lot about the history of this unique house and the family that owned it! John was an excellent tour guide! Want to come back in October for the Yellow Fever Tour.

SHIPS OF THE SEA MARITIME MUSEUM REVIEWS
If you are a history maritime buff, this is the place to see. 18th and 19th century, model size ships displayed in the Scarbrough House. Maritime artifacts through out the house. Most models were built by William E Hitchcock with precise and striking detail. A lot to see and tours are self guided. Mask required at all times. Restrooms on site. Gardens located in the back with tables for a rest in the shade. No drinks or food are allowed indoors. Stairs. About 1 to 2 hours. Rentals for courtyard and tickets sold on site.
This museum is a treasure. First floor is dedicated to the history of Savannah through its marine milestones, and the second floor is showcasing some major events of the US history through the prism of sailing. We really enjoyed how precise and nicely done the models are. The museum staff is very welcoming. Nice gift shop. The adjacent garden is just marvelous.
Interesting place and museum where we can learn a little bit more about Savannah and Georgia’s history.
