Forsyth Park is Savannah’s largest and oldest public park. It has over 30 acres of parkland. The park features a cafe, ample room for sports, two playgrounds, and events. The park is home to the Farmers Market every Saturday. The park hosts free shows every month, a place for concerts during the Savannah Jazz Festival, and the destination for all kinds of festivals and special occasions throughout the year. Forsyth Park has a confederate memorial, a half shell theatre, and basketball courts.

Lake Mayer Park is the most versatile park in Savannah. It is a Lakeside park with sports courts and fields, fishing, picnic pavilions, and a community center. The park has lighted basketball courts and a bicycle-paved track with a fitness course, baseball/softball field, lighted hockey rink, volleyball play area, and handball practice court. Lake Mayer Park has two pavilions available for rent and eight lighted tennis courts. The park features Savannah sailing center, karate classes, remote control car races, tennis instruction, and summer camp. Handball practice court and handicap access are available.

Daffin Park is one of Savannah’s two large recreational parks in the historic district. It holds lots of walking paths and 80 acres of grass for multiple fields and is also home to the Grayson Stadium. The park features a lake, a two-mile paved sidewalk that's eight feet wide, and a shorter 1/3-mile lighted sidewalk that traverses the lake. The park boasts a playground, athletic fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball court, a swimming pool, a picnic area, and a pavilion.
