Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site serves as a museum of art, history, and architecture and hosts community groups, educational programs, meetings, and community-oriented events. The house was used by four generations of the Philipse family. The museum has been a public museum of history, architecture, and art since 1912. Historical highlights of the Hall include its 18th-century, high-style Georgian building, a rare 1750s paper-mâché Rococo ceiling, and one of the only presidential portrait collections in existence, including six presidents from NY State. A Community Gallery was built at Philipse Manor Hall to display materials that support Manor Hall's programs and services related to the local community. Exhibit policy and applications are available at the administrative office. Both individuals and organizations are welcome to apply.
