This is a great little museum which some very nice paintings and exhibits. The attached Victorian house was my favorite. The dollhouse in the mansion is interesting and today's George Washington exhibit was better than I expected. The place is easy to get to, has lots of free parking, and it is not crowded at all. The staff seemed quite friendly too. You will be impressed, and at $6 per person and $3 for kids under 18, you will get your money's worth.

Free admission for children 10 years old and younger - The exhibits and ecological experiments that comprise the Science Barge float on a steel deck barge, approximately 115 feet long

Sat & Sun : 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Science Barge is an incredible ongoing demonstration of the potential of urban farming. What makes the barge great is that the crew can make it a great experience for kids while also educating adults. The depth of the science going on at the barge goes far beyond what one can learn in an hour-long visit. Definitely one of the best spots in Yonkers.

We had been to the Philipse Manor Mill farther north, and were traveling up the slow road along the Hudson north of New York City. We saw this name and stopped. This is the oldest house around, from the 1700's, and has lots of history, which is also the history of the entire area north of New York under the Dutch and early English rule. The house itself is OK, and they had a special exhibit on the family and the period which was very interesting.
