I wish I knew about this lake park before. It is a great place to go for a walk, have a picnic, to fish or just relax! They have a playground for children and lots of benches to sit and enjoy the sights. I wish the parking were bigger, it is a little bit tight, but you can park across the street too. The trail is about 1.5 mile and it has fitness pads to do sit ups, to stretch, etc. The park is open from sunrise to sunset everyday.

This park is probably the best, in my opinion, when it comes to play areas for kids. They have about 4-5 large wooden, playhouses with bridges, tires, monkey bars, slides, and other fun kid play things. My little one loves it because there are places to hide and walk under the sets. They also have a sand area, a picnic area, a stage area, & things to climb on like rocks & stone animals. Keep in mind, I'm just reviewing their Fun Forest area. Chesapeake City Park also has a doggie park.

Beautiful quiet park that is great for hiking with my dog. We usually do a 3 mile loop to the river. Our favorite trail is right past the lake where the main yellow bridge is. To the left there is a natural stairway made of logs that leads to a raised path along side the water. The trails are muddy majority of the time due to this being a low water table area prone to flooding, but I bought water proof hiking shoes for this purpose.
