NORTHWEST RIVER PARK REVIEWS
Lovely gated campground and trails for hiking. Many water views! Easy walking trails and many benches along the trail to rest if needed. Looks like you can rent paddle boats, kayaks and bicycles however we did not look further into this. We will be returning for the trails that go along the water!
Beautiful grounds and very quiet! Only downside was that the trail was a little hard to follow in some spots because of the leaves covering the ground but it's fall and that's what nature does.
Beautiful trail! Can get a little muddy on the outer trails. There is a gravel road headed to the river but I suggest stepping off into one of the trails. We found many different spring wildflowers popping up!

Indian River Park is a 90-acre metropolitan-forest preserve, strategically split between Paramount and Rokeby Avenues by Military Highway with parcels on both sides. The park consists mainly of mature hardwood and pines, and a small lake winds the entire property length. The park is found in significant seasoned wood and pine trees, a baseball field, a play area, and a girl club. Indian River Park has a convenient place to explore trail adventures. The park has a range of cycling paths and jumps and BMX groups. Cape Henry Audubon's bird walk was exciting and pleasant. The nature trails are well kept and a great place to explore animals or plants. Most people enjoy mountain biking, hiking, walking, and running. There are occasional benches for a snack. The park spans south from Providence Road to the city limits of Virginia Beach. When you don't have time to get away, this park is a good option.

I have been riding bikes here since I was a kid, this generation of bike riders take ramp construction and maintenance to a whole new level.
I love hiking here, the beautiful older trees and swampy areas surrounded by natural sounds are musical and comforting to my soul.
Wonderful little park packed with woods, hiking paths, and bike paths.
