Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways History Foundation is a nonprofit organization that promotes the history of the Battle of Great Bridge, December 9, 1775, and the region's Revolutionary War and canal history. They educate the public about the importance of these events in the creation and growth of America. The Historic Place will continue to serve to preserve, promote, and present to the nation the historical, educational, and economic significance of The Battle. It is also a family picnic region and a future memorial to the British troops who lost their lives during the battle. A free docent tour is available by appointment only.

GREAT BRIDGE BATTLEFIELD & WATERWAYS HISTORY FOUNDATION REVIEWS
This is a great park. Nice trails, plenty of parking, lots of spot to fish, watching the boats go past, if you walk further back on the trails you can go under the by-pass bridge which is really cool, trail is well maintained and clean, there are two portable toilets for bathroom use, stand for dog poop bags, and mostly shaded. Great park and will be back. Trail is probably like 1.5 miles roughly. No hills and easy to walk.
Excellent park on the intercoastal waterway, abundant seating for picnics and view the large boats and marine traffic passing through the lock system. I'm currently writing a article for a UK based history publisher on the "Battle of Great Bridge". There is a museum and self guided tour here about this revolutionary battle which took place 6 months before the war became official.
A beautiful area with walking trails, historical information, and some of the best hiding places ever. Even if it starts raining while you're on the trails, the tree cover keeps you dry until you're back at the parking lot

CHESAPEAKE CENTRAL LIBRARY REVIEWS
My son who is almost 4 had his first library experience here and the front desk staff were so friendly, professional, and helpful in showing us where to go. My son was so excited to be there and the children's department made us feel welcome and comfortable. It was important to me that his first library experience is a good one so he can have a lifelong relationship with libraries and books. I'm happy for this to be our home library.
I like the CPL. They have a great selection of books. The staff members have always been helpful. I do think they need to offer more events and programs for kids like Norfolk Public Library. Norfolk offers so much more programs for children than Chesapeake.
This is a GORGEOUS library. Librarians were all very helpful (with kids at 4 and 11, we cover a lot of ground) as well as patient. Great selection, lots of other services etc. Most excellent.
