LAKE OF THE ISLES PARK REVIEWS
Dog-friendliness: My dogs loved roaming over the ice sheet in the winter and licking at the frozen minnows encased in the ice.
The best dog park in the Twin Cities, with friendly regulars every morning. Two sections: one for small dogs and about 2 acres for larger canines. It's only missing a coffee truck to be perfect!
Wonderful trail surrounds the lake. It's a lovely walk and you can look at all the nice homes around the lake. During the summer you can rent kayaks or canoes to explore the lake and the isles.

LAKE NOKOMIS PARK REVIEWS
This is a beautiful, well kept park with a sizeable lake and lots of walking paths, including paths and bridges along Minnehaha Creek that link to the park. Added features are ball fields, canoe, pedal surries and paddleboat rentals, boat docks, and swimming beaches. The acclaimed Sandcastle restaurant here offers excellent burgers, sandwiches, and more all summer long. In winter the spacious ice rink is set up for skaters. The lake is home to a variety of ducks, geese, herons, egrets, and other wildlife. It's a lovely place to picnic, jog, walk, or just sit on one of the benches and watch nature.
I may be dull but they have biomes around this lake and there are different trees and plants in certain parts around the area. Love to walk dogs here and nature/people watch with friends and family even though I am not from the area. Ample free parking is perfect too! Remember to yield for pedestrians on the boulevard as they have the right of way.
Great public lake, we take our dog on walks around all the time! Friendly people and two beaches. The only downside is a busy day around the lake can making finding parking difficult, but most of the time there is free street parking and a couple pay lots!

BOOM ISLAND PARK REVIEWS
It's a nice park with a beautiful view of the Mississippi and the city skyline especially at night only thing is parking is a dollar an hour...its got nice pavilions with grills built in them
Beautiful park on the mighty Mississippi with sprawling views of downtown. I'd love to go back in the warmer months. If you're going here to do some walking, the paths are nice and clear, but there are lots of icy spots.
Great place to hangout and walk around. It's a short walk from the heart of downtown Minneapolis if you want to visit there too.
