Riverfront City Park is the City's premier urban event park. It has over 26 acres of parkland. It is a beautiful park with separate children's playground. The park has an amphitheatre, large grassy areas, play equipment, a covered rotary pavilion, and a splash pad. The park hosts Salem's annual events, including the 4th of July celebration, the world beat festival, holiday tree lighting, and summer movies in the park. The park continues to be a well-loved and vibrant community gathering place for years to come. There is a lovely grassland full of squirrels and sports areas, and the park has public restrooms and parking facilities for visitors. The park has handicap-accessible areas.

Bush's Pasture Park is a lush 90.5 acres of walking and running paths, wooded areas, and open meadows near downtown Salem. It has many recreational amenities and historical features. The park boasts a beautiful rose garden, a small reservable gazebo, and an art centre. The park has two large open grass fields for a drop-in gathering of friends to picnic or for a game of frisbee and three different playgrounds. The park has many attractions, from green meadows to sprawling waters, gardens, unique bridges, educational facilities, and classical architecture. Bush's Pasture Park has a softball/baseball field for 60-, 65-, and 70-foot play, four lit tennis courts, picnic areas, a large horseshoes area, and an amphitheater. There are plenty of sunshade spaces to spend the time in the evening.

This is a great park for a stroll. There are great maps and the paths are well marked.
