The restaurant was founded by James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole. Uchiko Austin serves Japanese cuisine using fresh ingredients. They can accommodate all customer requests, including surprises. Their happy hour features budget-friendly classic menu items, including drinks. Uchiko Austin accepts credit cards for the bills. They serve beer and wine exclusively to the customers. They offer both covered and heated outdoor seating so customers can dine comfortably in fresh air. 2026 Update: Steven Attwood is the Chef de Cuisine, and Rudy Martinez is the Head Sushi Chef of the restaurant. Uchiko Austin has a half-private dining room for up to 12 guests and a full private dining room for up to 24 guests. Their friends, Kazuya Owada, a skilled commercial designer, and Masataka Oki, a talented carpenter, came from Japan to help with the design. The menu is extensive, with some adventurous options for those willing to try something new. They also make their own pickles, which come with the rice. Komé Sushi Kitchen offers happy-hour food and serves vegan dishes.

2026 Update: Komé Sushi Kitchen is a family-run restaurant founded by husband-and-wife team Take and Kayo Asazu. The restaurant offers a variety of Japanese dining experiences throughout the day. They provide catering services, with each tray serving about 4-5 people. They accept credit and debit cards. Komé Sushi Kitchen offers vegan and gluten-free options. They also provide high chairs and a kids' menu."

Make sure you check in online ahead of time or you might have quite a wait. I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant as it was my first time to a revolving sushi bar. A robot brings you your beverage. The selection and variety is plentiful. Sushi was fresh and delicious. It's fun to pick what you want off of the revolving sushi carousel. Or you can make a special order using the ordering station at each table. The prices were fairly reasonable, it wasn't off the chart or anything like that. Would highly recommend for a celebration or a light meal.

My whole family loves this place, and for absolutely good reason. First, the food is just unbelievably delicious. I mean, this is the type of place you can eat at several times a week and you don't get tired of the food even in the slightest. You just want more! The staff and the atmosphere are also top notch. My kids all beg to go here at least once a week. Their donuts are the truth too! 12/10, can't recommend Kura enough.

Fun sushi boat experience in Austin. The food is good, but not amazing but there are a lot of choices. If the sushi looks like its been on the belt for a while, I just order what I want from the tablet. If theres a wait, you can put yourself on the list on the app but be aware that when the app says it is a 90 minute wait, it will really be half of what it says, and if you miss your spot, they delete you.

Although we were unable to reserve online and the wait time was estimated at 20 minutes when we got there, they got us in within 5 minutes which was really nice. The chicken karaage was especially delicious as well as the rolls we got. I did not enjoy the shrimp tempura very much which was kind of disappointing.

Although the location isn't easy to access for nonlocals, their food was excellent. Most of the food tastes authentic Japanese, which makes sense since the Japanese own this place, at least from what I heard. Hope they have more variety of ramen or noodles.

I love coming to Komé! The food, service, and prices are great. There are no reservations or take out available, but you get seated right when you walk in even at busy times. Don’t forget to ask about the specials :).
