Stephen J. Monnig, MD - LEXINGTON CLINIC

First, I was a bit nervous and embarrassed about having bladder cancer... being a young man, I'm still looking for a wife to impress. With my girlfriend's mother being a uro/gynecologist a the next town over. She was able to get me in fast and when I was headed back toward Lexington and had to go straight to the ER for emergency surgery. Luckily it was Dr. Monnig. Believe he saved my life and see him often for check ups, ask about my now fiancé, every visit. We joke a bit in the OR room. Now the staff are phenomenal.... I had a boat load of paper work for insurance, and work. Chelsea has completely gone out of her way to get everything handled with insurance, faxes, and filing out papers for me. I couldn't ask for a better team to be in my side in a life changing event like this. I had blood in my stool, call him immediately, instead of going to my primary care, or ER, to waste money and time for a referral. He had me an appt within a week with a Gastroenterologist. He didn't benefit financially at all, (make an appt with him first) just helped with referral. Hope to never have to refer him(someone having cancer) but I would in a heart beat, knowing they are in experience hands. #teamMonnig.

Dr. Monnig is wonderful. My mother is in the same field as him so my standards are bit higher than the average. He’s concise, calm, welcoming, caring, and has an amazing bedside manner. He’s the type of doctor (if it’s a must) you want to tell you the news about your cancer. Some doctors and other healthcare professionals are not like that, not even close. Yes getting to the point and being clear with the information is critical, but you can try and ease the anxiety and fear as much as possible if that’s important to you in your line of work, and he does. Also Chelsea always, I mean ALWAYS goes above and beyond to help us with doctor notes, insurance tedious findings needed, following up, and most importantly does it with so much care and enthusiasm, you’d think she loves digging through files and 5 miles of paperwork, but we know that’s not true, but you would never know. I appreciate them and the entire team in his office. Thank you for all you do and making us feel our lives are important.

I went in today for my procedure and doctor Monning was more than excellent. Very kind and courteous. He explained everything he was doing as he done it and what would be expected. The procedure took approximately half an hour and when done he advised on follow ups. I would recommend anyone to him and his practice. His nurses are also top of the line.
