Dr. Fernando deCastro received his medical degree from Kansas City University, Missouri. He went on to complete an internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, and the Mayo Clinic residency in dermatology. Dr. deCastro has completed an immunodermatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic and a dermatopathology fellowship. He is accredited by the American Board of Dermatology, the American Board of Dermatopathology and the Clinical and Laboratory Dermatological Immunology Board of America. He joined DAK in 1995 and is the director of DAK's Dermatopathology Reference Laboratory and the DAK Ambulatory Surgery Center's medical director. Dr. deCastro is the former Head of Dermatology at St. Joseph Hospital and now works at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine's Volunteer Faculty.

Dr. Deborah K. Phillips is a certified dermatologist with a special interest in laser medicine and cosmetic dermatology. She is a Central Kentucky native who completed her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, Texas. After attending medical school, she went to the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas for an internship in internal medicine. She was then granted a dermatology residency at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in conjunction with the University of Texas and served as a resident chief. After practicing dermatology in Texas for over 18 years, Dr. Phillips returned to her native Kentucky to work at Commonwealth Dermatology and eventually became one of the founding members of the Lexington Dermatology & Laser Center, PSC. Over the years, she has expanded her services to include not only surgical treatment for skin cancer but a wide range of laser and cosmetic services.
