I’ve waited 30 years to finally see the Alamo. Some websites have the audacity to call it one of the “most overrated tourist attractions.” Those websites miss it. This place is a shrine. A place to be inspired. To be inspired to live a life that reflects centuries of American ethos and fighting spirit. Stand there and meditate standing at the top of the ramp above the sanctum, fighting to the end. A huge thank you to Officer Flores for his hospitality and care in making our day great. We did the free tour, and it was perfect for our family. Just under 2 hours spent on site.
Definitely do the guided tour. Andrew was outstanding! The history is so interesting. The grounds were torn up from construction but the buildings were accessible, clean, and had lots of interesting artifacts.
Impressive and interesting place to visit. The information in the short film they show inside the Alamo's building was excellent.
