THE CHIMES REVIEWS
Being a Southern girl, loving every battered, fried, and dripping with sauce, I was right at home at Chimes. We stopped in for lunch at the location just outside LSU’s campus and it was awesome. The place is large and cooly decorated. The staff were nice and accommodating but most importantly, the food is finger licking DELICIOUS! We ordered a bunch of sides (crab claws, sausage balls, onion rings, and wings). The sausage balls were heavenly and as an onion ring connoisseur, I rank Chimes’ in my top 5 best of all time. I can’t wait to go again!
This is one of my new favs in the LSU zone! Excellent food, served quickly, at a great price point. The ambience is fantastic! The perfect weekday lunch spot!
Food was amazing, we went an hour before closing and was still treated as if we were not so late, drink was good and on the strong side, steamed veggies could have been steamed longer.

Elsie's Plate & Pie is called to remember the precious Elsie Marie Campeau Rupe of Lockport in Lafourche Parish, maternal grandma of Proprietor and Chef Paul Chauvin Dupré. First, you would be kindly received with a smile; if you choose Elsie's Plate & Pie restaurant, you could count on one of your choice meals. Their food would be enough for everyone, so you could always have leftovers at home. Paul's excited by the grandma he admired; he has caught the menu given by Elsie's Plate and Pie with her in mind, combining not only his Ma's cooking technique but also her secret component, love, that was so much a part of the meals she shared. Their chef, Paul, thinks what he gained during his years in the kitchens of some of the most successful Baton Rouge restaurants is more critical. If you are going to eat at Elsie's house, there are numerous joys you can always be satisfied. Elsie's Plate & Pie is also recommended for vegetarians. They offer free parking.

ELSIE'S PLATE & PIE REVIEWS
Elsie’s has been voted “Best Restaurant in Baton Rouge” for the last several years, and for good reason. This restaurant is the absolute gem of Baton Rouge. I have eaten there many, many times and I can easily say there’s never been a menu item I didn’t enjoy. Overall, my favorite dishes have to be the grits with melted pimento on top (usually on the brunch menu), the crawfish queso, and the “Eye of the Tiger” pie. I would absolutely recommend Elsie’s to anyone visiting BR for the first time, or to any local who wants a great new brunch/lunch spot.
Came for brunch and had a wonderful time! the crawfish cakes were fantastic! eggs were poached perfectly. the biscuits tasted great and the pepper jelly paired with it was a cherry on top. im not a fan of corn in my grits but i still gave them a try and they were delicious! we will be back!
The avocado sandwich was amazing, best I've ever had! Service was excellent and parking was easy. Their pies are delicious also. I can't wait to return and try more!

J. ALEXANDER'S RESTAURANT REVIEWS
Well let’s start off by saying the wait was great on the food, you definitely won’t leave hungry. The service was a 10/10 my server was very attentive! My salmon and mac and cheese was fresh and hot as you can tell fair-well by the picture, it was also very tasteful. I wouldn’t chose this place for a date night on a packed night unless you absolutely love their food which is relatable, the atmosphere is not very quiet/settled it’s like a ball of conversations heard all at once when it’s packed but other then that I rate this place a 9/10, I will be back!!
Upscale and delicious, food was outstanding as expected. Our server Macy was at another level of service. Food was delivered hot and our drinks never hit bottom. Over all 5* stars isn't enough for this place.
Very nice atmosphere and the food is good every time I go. I had the pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes. It had a good flavor.
