3 Best Chinese Restaurants in Cleveland, OH

As soon as we walked in, we were hit with the best smells ever. At the time, the restaurant was accepting cash only which thankfully we had. We ordered the soup dumplings which are a must have and are the star of the show. We overheard several other group of people order multiple orders of them because they’re so good. Quick service and very personable. You could tell who were regulars bc of the friendly banter between them and the employees and it was all around a comfortable environment. While there we also overheard this restaurant ranked #95 on best Chinese restaurants in the U.S.A. I believe and I strongly agree it earned its spot. I got the mixed veggies soup and my partner, the Shanghai flat noodle soup. Both were excellent soups and id love to get them again. They were even better with some vinegar, soy sauce and chili oil. The prices are also very reasonable as you get what you pay for plus some. I cannot wait to come back.

Can’t remember why we had picked this place but am so so glad we did. One negative thing I will get out of the way first, it’s cash only and I always find this a bit annoying. The complaining stops there. I got the spicy beef tendon which was just awesome. Second, I had the pork and veggie wonton soup which was also wonderful. Good prices and portion sizes. They have vegetarian/vegan option but if you’re getting soup make sure you request veggie broth too. The place was busy but had quick turn around, and it’s very popular.

This is a great little restaurant. The food is authentic, and it is a gem. The meatball (pork) is excellent, served in a beautiful savory sauce. The service is good. Extremely professional and to the point. The garlic cucumbers are very nice. They trim the seeds off, which is a nice touch. The decor isn't impressive, but the food is. This is authentic Cleveland.

We went to King Wah for lunch on a Saturday. We had Mu Shu Vegetable Wraps: a plate of chopped, seasoned, stir fried vegetables and 4 tortillas kind of “pancakes” to make the wraps yourself. I liked that because I could put as much or as little vegetables as I wanted. Plum sauce was also served to condiment the wraps to taste. They were very good, and I even had enough for a wrap for dinner. The server was very nice and attentive. However, I did not care for the hostess who came to seat us when we first arrived. She seemed kind of hostile and unfriendly, marching around in a very officious kind of way. We arrived for the lunch at 12:30 on Saturday. Only one table was occupied, but she proceeded to take us to the lower level right by the kitchen door. That was very weird, seeing that there were plenty of tables available on the main level. I told the first server I saw that I did not like that spot, and she said we could sit wherever we wanted, which we did by going back to the main level and picking a booth in a nice spot. Someone needs to have a conversation with her about what being a hostess entails.

The greatest Chinese restaurant I've ever been to and I've been to a few in a few cities. Outstanding atmosphere and service, they know us by name and know our entire order front to back. We are here once a month at least.

We used to come here when the old man owned the restaurant. The mai tias were the best ever, and the spirit in the place was warm and happy.
