“Saint Mark Catholic Church has an impressive enrollment of over 2,500 families and nearly 4,000 children in its religious education program, the church has experienced remarkable growth. Originating as a mission within the neighborhood, the parish embarked on a mission to engage the community, initially hosting Sunday Mass in the rectory's living room and later at Benito Martinez Elementary School. With an impressive enrollment of over 2,500 families and nearly 4,000 children in its religious education program, the church has experienced remarkable growth. As the parish thrived, it successfully raised funds for constructing a multipurpose building, which reached completion in July 1996 and received blessings from Bishop Ochoa. This versatile structure accommodated various needs, including offices, classrooms, and a hall, serving as a temporary sanctuary as the neighborhood evolved alongside the rapidly expanding east side of El Paso.”
