“Good Shepherd Catholic Parish is one of the most beautiful churches in Garland. The church was established in 1946. In 1953, 200 Catholic families planned to build a church, school, and auditorium. The church features beautiful architecture. The 21,712 square-foot church will seat 1,340 and is three times larger than the original church, which was built in 1954. During the three-hour dedication ceremony, the beautiful edifice, crafted with a harmonious blend of wood, stone, and marble in an open design, was unveiled to the community. There are numerous stained-glass window installations, including one depicting Christ as the good shepherd. Good Shepherd Catholic Church had 600 Roman Catholic families in Garland at this time, which is a far cry from the three people of the Catholic faith in Garland in 1923. Their responsibility and commitment to provide an environment that is safe and nurturing.
