“"SHRINE OUR LADY OF CHARITY" was found in the northeastern part of the island of Cuba in 1612, floating on the waters of the Bay of Nipe. During the first years of the 17th century, a beautiful image of the Mother of Christ appeared floating in the waters of the Bay of Nipe. After three days of storm, she was picked up by three peasants who had gone to look for salt, who tradition remembers as "The Three Juanes." From the beginning, she has been venerated under the title of "Our Lady" of Charity, and many pilgrims constantly visit her to pray before her and ask for her protection in times of danger and need. "SHRINE OUR LADY" of Charity is a United, privileged place for prayer and strengthening trust in divine mercy. The Hermitage is the home of all the children, without distinction of sex, race, or religion.”
