"Urbanity Dance is dedicated to enabling individuals and empowering diverse communities through dance. Betsi Graves is the Director and founder of the dance school. The dance school offers quality dance training in several styles and genres for over 500 students of all ages and experience levels each year through its three South End studios. The studio has a structured, nurturing classroom environment. The dance school offers private and semi-private lessons in many styles of dance. Urbanity Dance has an experienced and professional faculty. They work with you to develop lessons that help you achieve your dance goals. Urbanity Dance conducts workshops and masterclasses. The dance studio has rental facilities that are perfect for workshops, rehearsals, and masterclasses, and accommodates up to 35 people for seated performances and 20 people for the class. The studio is 1,092.5 square feet of spacious studio space with a small kitchen, Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth-compatible speaker, gorgeous large windows, a security system, a spacious bathroom, two movable mirrors, and ballet barres.

2026 Update: Urbanity Dance’s Professional Company offers performances, workshops, and classes that combine disciplines such as modern jazz and breakdance. They have been recognized by Improper Bostonian, Boston Magazine, and The Boston Globe. It has presented work at venues including Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, The Institute of Contemporary Art, The Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, and locations across New Mexico, Virginia, Texas, New England, New York, and Florida. Their lessons can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly for one hour or more."
