3 Best Museums in Boston, MA

The ship is super fun to explore. It’s an old ship that was involved in some military activities. You can see how things were organised inside and the members of the staff (army) do mini tours inside. There are not so many artefacts from the past presented and I would personally appreciate a bit more of history of how people on the ship lived (despite some of that being mentioned) but in any case this ship is worth a visit as it’s a super historic one. Entrance is free.

Made a quick historic stop to see the USS Constitution, it was closed for on board visits that day so we took a quick peek and visited the museum. Loads of interactive exhibits throughout, built a ship and went to battle, felt the difference in density of the wood available, could hoist sails and livestock and check out replicated sleeping quarters. Will be adding to our list to visit again, next time bringing J with us!.

I served aboard the USS Constitution, Old Ironsides 60 years ago as part of the Navy's honor guard. This building was refurbished long after I departed to honor the ship and it's history. My last visit was July 4th, 2011 when I enjoyed the turn-a-rpund cruise aboard Old Ironsides. A must see!.

I was slightly hesitant to visit, worried it might be overly touristy, but it really exceeded expectations. The actors are excellent at reading the room and engaging visitors without overdoing it. You are given a character card at the start, and the actors refer to your character during the experience, which makes it far more immersive. Even as a solo traveler, staff were happy to help with filming during the tea-throwing experience. I was wearing a red coat/jacket that day by accident, and was made well aware of it several times (in a fun, lighthearted way). The balance between education and entertainment is very well done. The gift shop at the end is reasonably priced and, of course, has plenty of tea. Highly recommended. The experience is a solid hour, and you move quickly between places, but you never feel too rushed. Once again, highly recommended.

The Boston Tea Party Museum was part of our trip. It’s interactive, engaging, and incredibly well done, making history come alive in a fun and memorable way. From the knowledgeable reenactors to the immersive exhibits, you really feel like you’re part of the events that shaped our country. Tossing tea into the harbor and learning the stories behind the protest added such a unique, hands-on element. It’s both educational and entertaining, making it perfect for all ages. This museum is a must-see in Boston and an excellent way to truly understand the spirit and significance of the Boston Tea Party.

What a wonderful experience! You can really feel that the people working here genuinely love what they do, and that passion makes the entire experience incredibly engaging and fun. I’ve visited many live experience history museums, and this is easily the best one I’ve been to. They’re also wonderful with children, and the experience itself is very rich and well designed. I’d recommend arriving a few minutes early. Ps: I’ve heard that many of the staff are theater students, which really shows!.
