Ash is a fantastic trainer. We have been working with Ash with two dogs (one a mini schnauzer and the other a collie mix, both with different challenges.) we have seen a ton of improvement so far, and I can tell that both dogs are happier and more enriched…. And most importantly, are much better “behaved.” I was skeptical about more reward-based training at first, but it’s undeniable that it’s working. :) Ash helps you understand the “why” behind everything you learn and gives you the tools you need to address your pet’s unique “issues.” We love working with Ash and are so so so thrilled with the progress we have made so far.

So in my opinion, dog training is mostly about training the owner to train the dog. And I'm not the most trainable human (ADHD) but Ash does the best job of explaining what and WHY we're doing something. My reactive German Shepherd is the confident girl she is today because of what we learned with Ash. They take great notes and send you follow-up instructions. Ash is truly an expert with aggressive & reactive dog psychology and has the experience and methods to really impact the life of a dog who literally may not have one without their intervention. Can't recommend highly enough.

Ash is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and training methods. She explains the whys and the mechanics of training clearly, and then demonstrates it to perfection. We took our puppy (3 months) for a consultation and it was really helpful- we left with a plan on what to focus on and some hands-on experience. Will definitely go again after we practice our initial training with our pup.

So far I've loved my time at Sportsmen's. The instructors are straightforward but kind - they will tell you what you're doing wrong so you can improve. Everyone has been in the professional dog world for decades and is extremely knowledgeable. I've noticed huge improvements in my dog after one class and now he's having a blast doing agility. Highly recommend for basic obedience or higher level AKC sport classes.

We attended a puppy class and the online registration and payment was easily navigated. For the # of people and dogs there, this was well organized and efficiently ran. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. They keep the place clean. Classes are reasonably priced. Parking is tight and if you miss the turn you have to turn around as all the surrounding blocks are dead ends.

Went for an evaluation for the “Good Citizen” dog class and we passed. I watch a beginner class and they we’re learning and having fun! More to come once we start our class.
