“Dan Ryan Woods is a 257-acre forest preserve that is a perfect spot for playfields, a famous sledding hill, and a paved multi-use trail. The trail's elevation gain is 2 meters, and its total length is 1.6 kilometers. This is a loop type of trail, and it takes 17 minutes to complete the total trail. This is an elegant spot where visitors can find an extensive array of native plants, animals, and migratory birds. The park's primary attraction is the Cliff stairs. The woods have oak and hickory trees, which offer habitat for great horned owls and birds, such as the eastern phoebe at the edges. Dan Ryan Woods also features picnic tables and public restroom facilities. The park also allows dogs in leased areas.”
