DAN RYAN WOODS REVIEWS
I visited region 9 trail which is 1.1 miles. The trail and park is peaceful, clean and beautiful. I recommend that you go to the park, enjoy the weather and treescapes as the foliage changes with each passing season. Absorb the sun. Take a seat on a bench. Slow down and enjoy life's moments. ---- Update. Visited the park on 12/4/2022 at 9am to witness one of Chicago s longest running parades "Toys for tots motorcycle parade" stay warm and comfy by parking in the nothern parking right off of 83rd street.
This place was awesome! The walk was beautiful. My grandson and i was a most stunning nature walk...with beautiful trees of all sorts...huge Ginko trees. Nice little benches along the way to sit and take in the sites. Then he wanted to walk up the stairs to top of the hill...we walked down the hill. It was a refreshing and peaceful walk. Seems much safer and pleasant than many years ago.
I love the Dan Ryan Woods! I walk, run, picnic there all the time. It’s within walking distance from my home. There are so many birds and other small harmless animals in the forest. It’s always kept clean and safe. The Chicago Police take their breaks there occasionally. Everyone from very old to very young enjoy this well kept forest reserve.

HENRY C. PALMISANO NATURE PARK REVIEWS
This park is a must visit. It takes you for a short detour from the busy life with a great view. There is a small hill top, a trail experience, a lake and a small stone statue… it’s an amazing place for a picnic, fishing, walking, yoga! No swimming is allowed in the lake I guess. This park is not like your regular park. An amazing place to relax!
Great park offering catch and release fishing, a North Face Rock Climbing installation and walking paths with wheelchair and stroller accessibility. Playground, basketball court and more just across the street. A good place to stop by for a socially distanced picnic with a nice view of the city skyline!
Great place to relax and get a bit of nature in the city. The slow walk up the hill (or the informal shortcut on the east side) leads to impressive views on the city skyline. The park also features a great reservoir stocked with fish on the west side. Good way to spend 20-40 minutes and it's free.

There are so many trees and plants. So amazing! I would definitely keep coming again soon! If you want to relax and just have a good time hiking, then this is the secret hidden place to visit ! Please don't tell anyone!! It is nature's best kept secret in Chicago.
Hard to believe such a lovely natural oasis exist in the heart of the north side. Nice manageable trails, and several places to sit and meditate quietly. The staff has always been nice, helpful and friendly. This is one of my favorite nature getaways when I'm feeling overwhelmed by urban life. I'm lucky enough to always get to see deer everytime I go walk the trails which is fun.
