Peaceful and quiet trails!! There is plenty of parking! It is quite hidden so keep that in mind! I am glad it is quite hidden because I guess that means less people know about the secret waterfall! The waterfall is so beautiful! It is so relaxing! The sounds of the waterfall make you feel like you are in the country, not in the city! It is a quiet forest and you don't hear the noisy cars! There are so many trees and plants. So amazing! I would definitely keep coming again soon! If you want to relax and just have a good time hiking, then this is the secret hidden place to visit ! Please don't tell anyone!! It is nature's best kept secret in Chicago.

North Park Village Nature Center offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, providing visitors with a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Nestled in the heart of Chicago, this hidden gem is perfect for those seeking tranquility. The center features peaceful walking trails that wind through lush woodlands, prairies, and wetlands, allowing you to connect with nature while enjoying quiet moments of reflection. The gentle rustling of leaves, the occasional chirping of birds, and the soft whisper of the wind create a calming atmosphere, ideal for a stroll or simply sitting on one of the benches and soaking in the natural surroundings.

It's like a little sanctuary in Chicago! The first time I admittedly wasn't super impressed. But then we saw a turtle. Another time we went to their maple fest and that was great for family and friends. It's wonderful they are trying to showcase nature ecology like the oak savanna. Definitely recommend a visit and take time to appreciate this place.

Cutest trail! Saw a big family (5+) deer having Sunday dinner together haha great for family/friend adventures! There’s a paved track winding through the woods or you can go off trail and have a hike like adventure. Throughout the trail there are portable bathroom here and there with trash cans nearby!

This is a forest preserve area. It does have bathrooms but are not always open, port-a- pottys are available. Plenty of parking, Permits suggested for groves, if you want a specific spot. Bike and walking trail come through this area.

This place was awesome! The walk was beautiful. My grandson and i was a most stunning nature walk...with beautiful trees of all sorts...huge Ginko trees. Nice little benches along the way to sit and take in the sites. Then he wanted to walk up the stairs to top of the hill...we walked down the hill. It was a refreshing and peaceful walk. Seems much safer and pleasant than many years ago.

A nice place for a good trek. Beautiful scenery, two sets of stairs to climb, and a safe atmosphere, lots of people walking.

Our family had a ball. Nice. Quite. Peaceful. Safe. Shade trees in perfect location.
