2026 Update: Griffin Museum of Science and Industry is formally called as Kenneth C. Griffin Museum of Science and Industry. The museum is a private, non-profit science museum housed in the Palace of Fine Arts since 1893, the World's Columbian Exposition. The Museum's most popular exhibits are the German submarine U-505 (Type IXC), which was captured during World War II, a United Airlines Boeing 727 and the Pioneer Zephyr. Griffin Museum of Science and Industry features a command module of the Apollo 8 spacecraft, a full-size replica coal mine, and a 3,500-square-foot (330 m2) model railroad. The Museum displays the permanent or special exhibits that cover manufacturing, chemistry, physics, computers, the brain, environmental science, mechanics of the human body, and agricultural science, among other subjects.
