Red Mountain Park

This park is full of nature's best!. The trails are easy to follow and the wider ones are well traveled. There are many bikers, hikers, dog walker's, and even racers! Some of the tougher trails are single person trails and are definitely worth the effort. Ike will give you a nice run for your money if you're a trail runner. There are many historic sights that seem to pop up from out of no where. Lookouts are just around the corner and give you fantastic views. If you're for an ultra good time join up with the Birmingham Ultra Trail runners. They are very motivational and know all the good places to go!

We hiked trail 15 to the end and were amazed by the abundant wildlife we saw. Early spring is the perfect time to see what this park has to offer. Some parts of 15 were a little rocky, but the elevation wasn't too high and there were a few places to stop and rest along the way.

Loved it here. The hike was amazing and the trail markers are easy to see and read. Definitely won't get lost so long as you are walking where the trail is marked out! Beautiful mountain and scenery, wonderful wildlife and such interesting history!
