I had an excellent stay at Hotel Contessa, located right on the River Walk in San Antonio. The location is ideal, with great restaurants and attractions within walking distance, and it’s just a short 15-minute drive from the airport. The rooms are immaculate, spacious, and comfortable, providing a great retreat after a day of activities. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. I was there for a conference, and the service was outstanding. The staff kept the conference rooms well-stocked with refreshments like sodas, coffee, and other beverages, which added a thoughtful touch. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was a highlight — gourmet and absolutely delicious, making for a perfect start to the day. Overall, the combination of excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and top-notch service makes Hotel Contessa a fantastic choice for both business and leisure travelers. Highly recommend!Suite was very clean, and service was great. Asked for a spare pillow and blanket (for pull out bed) and received it with no issue. Housekeeping (like many hotels these days) is only every three days unless you request otherwise. The parking option is valet-only, and it is expensive by the time they add tax, fees, etc, which I would have appreciated having better defined at the time I booked. You may want to research nearby parking garages to see if you can get a better deal. Located on the Riverwalk, ten minute walk to the Alamo.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Contessa. The suites were very large and quiet, considering we were over the Riverwalk. The staff was extremely courteous and very helpful. The rear of the hotel on the Riverwalk has a heart-shaped area often used for marriage proposals and the actual marriages themselves. The Ambler Texas Kitchen provided an amazing breakfast while the bar prepared cocktails that always help cap each evening. Can't wait to go back.Our new favorite hotel on the Riverwalk. I had an incredible stay at contessa in downtown San Antonio! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a seamless check-in and a warm welcome. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and offered stunning views of the city. The location was perfect—just a short walk to the River Walk and many great attractions.

I'm 77 years old now. My grandmother stayed there in her younger days. She showed it to us on trips to SA. When I got married I told my wife that is where we were going to stay on our own SA trips. She asked why. When I showed her she fell in love with the older part with all the antique furniture. On one special trip, the lady at the check in desk heard us say it was our anniversary. She motioned to a male worker who came to us and said he would show us to our room. We got to a big door and he said please enjoy your stay. He opened the door and we were in the Presidential Suite. My wife thought I had arranged it, so I kept my mouth shut. Quite a nice surprise. No surprise that is where we stayed for all our SA trips from that point on. Great location, service, amenities, and especially the people. 100% top notch.

Where do I start!!! This place is BEAUTIFUL!!! The vintage look and style are just perfect and the service was amazing too. My partner and I had the best experience and the best time ever! But I will say he was waiting for Sally to visit me but she never came lol (ghost Sally) I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time and learn about the history of it!
