Electronic sniffers to locate refrigerant leaks, with UV dye and black light when a leak won't show itself any other way. High-end gauges, and we diagnose and charge systems using superheat and subcool values rather than guessing. We weigh in every ounce of refrigerant, so we know exactly how much went into your system, and you're billed for exactly that.

Compressors and motors draw the bulk of your system's electricity, so we check amp draw on both to confirm they're running efficiently. We recommend hard-start kits to cut wear and improve compressor efficiency, and we replace capacitors that have drifted outside manufacturer tolerance, even when the system is still running, a weak capacitor costs you efficiency long before it fails. On air quality, we install polarized media filters that capture very fine particles, UV lights, and UVC oxidation bulbs for odor control.

Koala Cooling & Plumbing
We get every detail right at installation, but there's one that can't be set perfectly on day one: the refrigerant charge. If the house has been without AC for days, the heat load is abnormally high, and the system won't settle at normal operating conditions. So we come back a second time, after the house has returned to normal, to verify the charge and fine-tune it.

Yes, for replacements, those estimates are free. For service and repair work, there's a $131 service charge. Sending a trained technician in a stocked truck costs something no matter what; if it isn't charged up front, it gets buried in the price of every repair. We'd rather keep the repair prices lower and be upfront about the trip.
