Excellent ambiance and some of the best ramen I've had in the Madison area. Excited to try their sushi next time, which also looked incredible. The atmosphere is excellent for a moderately informal date or special occasion, or just grabbing a bite with friends. The cocktails were creative and delicious.

We tried some sushi, fried chicken bun and the cheese curds. All were yummy. The veggie sushi was a little bland but to be expected based on the ingredients. The service was fast and very polite. Such a nice atmosphere. Clean and quiet for the amount of people in there. A little pricy but to be expected based on the location. Went for weekday lunch and it seemed well liked without being over crowded. Would recommend.

The food was delicious! I got a tuna poke bowl, my husband got the chicken fried rice and we shared a side of edamame. Very yummy and nice decorations/environment inside.

UMAMI RAMEN & DUMPLING BAR REVIEWS

A quiet smaller place to enjoy some delectable ramen. The garlic bomb and spicy bomb add extra depth of flavor to the ramen. I have also tried the chicken and the pork dumplings and both were next level delish! They also have a surprisingly delicious ginger ale. I'm not sure if it's on tap or what brand it is, but it has to be one of the best I've ever had. During their busy time, I recommend making a reservation as they do have limited seating. Service is generally quick, both times I have been here the waitresses kept our drinks full and food on the table in a timely fashion.

Went here for a Valentine’s date. We had planned on just sharing some apps and sticky buns, and not looking for a big meal- and this was the perfect place. The portions are normal portions, not American so this is something to keep in mind if you like to be unhealthy when going out to eat like me. The food was great and our waitress was really friendly! I especially enjoyed the saketini. I would come back here.

A lovely and unexpected surprise. I had the Tonksho Ramen and it was just incredible. The broth is very rich and savory. It was everything I needed.

Cute cozy atmosphere!! Open kitchen and large window seatings. The staff were so incredibly kind! Very tentative as well. They even offered to take a photo of my friend and I. That was so sweet. The food was absolutely incredible!! We got the tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. The broth alone was out of this world. 10/10 will be coming back often!! Thank you Strings of Madison.

We decided, on a whim, to stop into this restaurant and try their Ramen while in Madison. All I can say is the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was comforting and the service was amazing. We had the special - Ramen bowl, dumplings & hot tea for only $20. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Ramen bowls.

I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and everything was perfectly balanced. I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back again.
