WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE REVIEWS

If you are looking for things to do in San Jose and love learning about unique, historical artifacts then the Winchester Mystery House should be on your list! It’s conveniently located in the middle of town right by Santana Row, and parking is free and easy. The house makes for a very grand first impression, and upon entering, you will be greeted by upbeat, classical music similar to what you’d hear entering an amusement park. Meeting up with your tour guide is super easy - just cross through the gift shop to get to the courtyard and then you will be checked in right then and there! Our tour guide Yasmin was wonderful - she was very friendly, personable, enthusiastic and slipped in a couple of well-thought out puns and jokes to enhance the experience. I would definitely recommend booking a tour in advance online so that you can have your tickets ready once you arrive. Overall, the Winchester Mystery House was a lovely way to learn a little bit about history - it had the excitement and uniqueness of an amusement park ride along with the relaxation and learning experience of a museum. It was an hour very well spent.

I went here years ago, and my friend had never been. I did not want to go again, but he convinced me. Im glad he did. This was a great tour. There were only 4 people in our entire group. We got to spend extra time asking about the details of the home. Our guide was exceptional. We added the basement tour. They have places for you to sit and wait if you want to try to see a ghost. We were not interested in ghost hunting, but wanted to look at the foundation instead. The basement is unguided, but one of the workers walked us through the boiler, coal, and ash explanations. He pointed out the radiator that heated the floor. The mechanics of making the huge home operate were very interesting.

What a unique experience! Among the so many things that you can do in California I'm so glad I did this one! Such an incredible unique story... I thought I knew most of it going in and found out that I just knew a glimmer. Thank you to those who have been entrusted in taking care of this historical landmark I'm passing on the story to the world.

The museum is packed with incredible artifacts, including mummies, statues, and beautifully preserved relics from different periods of Egyptian history. One of the standout experiences is the tomb tour, which is free and gives you a feel for what it was like to explore an actual Egyptian burial site. Beyond the museum, the outdoor gardens are a peaceful retreat, featuring stunning Egyptian-inspired architecture and symbolic design elements. It’s the perfect place to reflect after exploring inside. Overall, this museum is informative, well-curated, and truly unique. Whether you’re a history buff, a student, or just looking for a fascinating way to spend an afternoon, this place won’t disappoint.

The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum is a great South Bay destination, offering a truly immersive experience for history and culture enthusiasts. The collection includes unique artifacts mostly from the New Kingdom anf Ptolemaic period. The innovative Alchemy section features Thoth—an AI-driven humanoid robot that answers visitors’ questions. A standout feature is also the stunning life-size tomb replica, crafted with meticulous detail based on the founders’ photos and explorations in Egypt. Spanning three stories, the tomb invites guests to explore its depths on their own, with fellow visitors, or on a guided tour. The museum’s outdoor garden is a feature of its own, it is serene and simply beautiful.

We had a long layover in San Jose California. We wanted to get out of the airport for a bit. This place was really close to the Airport so we decided to give it a try. It was really neat to see all of the relics from the past. They have a good selection. We enjoyed it. My youngest was really impressed. We are glad that we stepped away from the airport to experience this.

It's a museum about all the innovations from the Bay Area/ Silicon Valley. And for a technical museum it's not boring at all. You can come here with little kids, teenagers, or just adults, everyone will learn something new. The little ones like the earthquake exhibit the best. There is also a 3D movie theatre where they show interesting documentaries....

Nice cinema with a good selection of movies and snacks. Ticket prices are fair, and the seats are quite comfortable. It can get a bit busy on weekends, but overall it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a film. …

A very interesting museum with lots to see. There are several sections focusing on different aspects of life.
