“Pythian Castle was built in 1913 by the Knights of Pythias and was later granted by the U.S. military. Here, German and Italian prisoners were assigned during World War II for medical treatment and as laborers. The first floor of the Pythian Home of Missouri was constructed to include a meeting room, ballroom, grand foyer, dining hall, and sitting parlors. On the other hand, the second floor was developed to house adults and kids with many dormitories, living rooms, a theatre, and changing rooms for recreational events.
