A FREE Museum open to the public on UW Madison campus that has a beautiful collection of minerals, gems, meteorites, and fossils. It took us about an hour to go through the entire exhibit (we took a decent amount of time appreciating each exhibit and reading the information cards). I was surprised how large their collection was. They had a wonderful variety of local minerals and meteorites as well as items from around the country and the world at large. This museum is a great place for rock enthusiasts and novice appreciaters. It is also a family-friendly and great to bring kids of all ages. This museum is ADA accessible. There is no parking garage but there is free street parking in the surrounding area.
Kind of small but really neat place. Free since they receive donations! Everything there has been donated or on display via loan from so many people. You can also purchase small rocks & stones. Overall a cool place to visit.
Nice free public museum on UW Madison campus. Small but plenty to see without being overwhelming. Great spot for kids or really any age. Did I say dinosaurs!!!
