The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a beautiful and impressive museum that’s absolutely worth visiting when you’re in Kansas City. It features an amazing collection of ancient and historic artworks from around the world, making it a great place for art lovers and casual visitors alike. One of the best parts is that entry is completely free—you just need to pick up a wristband from the self-service kiosk at the entrance. The museum is spread across a large area, with extensive indoor galleries and a few outdoor art installations as well. There are two floors of exhibits, and you’ll need at least 2–3 hours to comfortably explore everything without rushing. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate. Parking at the museum is paid, but you can find free roadside parking on some nearby streets, which is a good option if you want to save a few bucks. Overall, a must-visit spot.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is an amazing place to visit! The exhibits are beautifully curated, and the variety of art—from classic to modern—makes every visit interesting. The building and gardens are stunning, and everything is very well maintained, including the restrooms, which are spotless and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the entire experience even better. It’s definitely one of the best museums in the area and a must-see for anyone who appreciates art and culture.

Incredible art museum! I was floored that it was a no fee entry. There are famous originals from Van Gough, Monet, Manet, and I could go on for days with more names. I was beyond impressed! My mom and I could've spent days in there and still not have got through it all--it's three levels, plus a few special sections lower down and some outdoor pieces.

THE NATIONAL WWI MUSEUM AND MEMORIAL REVIEWS

The National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City is a powerful and moving place to visit. The architecture is impressive, and the Liberty Memorial tower stands as a strong symbol of remembrance and honor. The exhibits are well organized and provide deep insight into World War I through artifacts, photographs, and personal stories. Walking through the memorial grounds feels peaceful and respectful, making it a great place to reflect and learn. The views of the Kansas City skyline from the memorial are stunning. This is a must-visit destination for history lovers and anyone interested in understanding America’s role in World War I.

Absolutely breathtaking views of the city! The sunset was just as amazing. The grounds were kept clean and well maintained. I definitely recommend coming at or after sunset. Very peaceful and serene. While there were a good amount of people, it was by no means crowded. A good place to take your dogs out for a walk. We will definitely be going back!!

Love this place! I visit every year. It's a must visit for when guests come to town. Many high quality interactive exhibits. Good for all ages.

my family and I visited Science City, and it was an incredible experience. We spent about four hours there and still didn’t get to see everything—we missed at least three areas, which says a lot about how much there is to explore. The museum offers a wide variety of hands-on exhibits, including trains, lasers, 3D printers, a jungle gym, space-themed exhibits, plants, and so much more. Everything is interactive and thoughtfully designed to keep visitors engaged. Science City is well spread out and perfect for all ages, making it a great place for families. It’s educational, fun, and easy to spend an entire day there. If you’re visiting Kansas City, this museum is absolutely worth the visit.

I love Science City and not just because I’m a geek. They have something for everyone! I purchase the annual pass for my family as this is possibly the best place to take your kids especially on the colder months when the kiddos need to get their wiggles out. We spend at least 2 hours each visit and never see all there is to see which makes it even more exciting on future trips; adventures are abundant! The fun is interactive, even for the parents. It is such a joy to see the safe fun and learning the kids can participate in.

This is such a fun place for kids of all ages! The new train section was a hit for my toddler. Such a great addition! My 6 yr old loved the indoor climbing structure and the dinosaur area and my 9 year old loved all of the stem activities. We were there for about 4 hours but I think we definitely could have spent more time there.
