3 Best Museums in Seattle, WA

This museum is a treasure. I took my family (grandparents and kid) to the Burke Museum and everyone found something for them. The space is neatly laid out with collections ranging from paleontology to Native American heritage and its contemporary impact (including how a NW coast mask from the Kwakwaka'wakw tribe on Vancouver Island influenced the Seahawks logo). Kids visiting loved interacting with the exhibits, including in the upstairs play spaces. We all enjoyed too watching students at work cleaning fossils in the lab rooms (where we also learned about the flesh-eating beetles used to clean specimens for study or exhibition!).

A well organized museum with incredible natural history exhibits and a nice touch of authenticity from the visible labs. Not very big and a bit pricey for the size, but worth a couple of hours if you want something low key and worthwhile.

I had a blast at this museum and was suprised with the quality of the exhibits. I would definitely recommend this to locals and tourists alike!.

Such a cool experience exploring the Museum of Pop Culture. The sheer amount of music history here is incredible, from Jimi Hendrix to Nirvana. The 'Sound Lab' was a fun interactive touch, but my favorite part had to be the Sci-Fi and Horror sections—seeing the actual props from classic films was a highlight. The guitar tower is a showstopper and makes for a great photo op. Highly recommended for music lovers and movie geeks alike!

A very large museum filled with pop culture references. There was so much to see that there was bound to be something that appealed to you. I really enjoyed the interactive exhibits, like the Sound Lab and the Indie Gaming Room. There were also plenty of picture-worthy spots, such as the Guitar Display. We walked at a comfortable pace, and it took us nearly three hours to explore everything.

A very cool place to nerd out and easily spend the whole day. We visited during Halloweekend and it wasn’t busy at all, which made it even better to explore everything at our own pace. I definitely recommend setting aside plenty of time here, especially for the gaming and music rooms.
