Dr. Eric Elowitz is one of the leading neurosurgeons in New York. He earned his medical degree in 1986 from SUNY Health Science Center, Brooklyn. He completed his neurosurgical residency and chief residency at SUNY/Downstate. Dr. Eric joined Beth Israel Medical Center, where he later served as Director of Neurosurgery. He specializes in Neurological Spine Surgery and Minimally Invasive Neurological Spine Surgery. He primarily focuses on the surgical treatment of degenerative spinal disorders, including lumbar spondylolisthesis, disc herniation, and cervical myelopathy. He has an active clinical research interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques. He uses a conventional approach to spinal problems and strives to avoid surgery when possible. When surgery is necessary, he aims to get patients back to their activities quickly without a lengthy recovery period. His object is always to provide state-of-the-art care with individual attention to every patient's unique requirements.
