“Peoria Sports Complex was the first major league baseball spring training facility, and it developed players' facilities to be shared by two teams. The complex was built in 1994, and the center has functioned as a model for the facilities. The 145-acre complex, home to Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners, hosts year-round player development programs for both clubs during spring training and is also used for many public and private events throughout the year. The stadium was also repainted to coordinate with the color scheme of the newly renovated team clubhouses, and restroom and concession spaces were upgraded with new amenities.”
