What a gem. We took our 9 year old daughter here and there was so much to see and play with for her and some sophisticated art upstairs for us to enjoy. The whole experience was a positive one. Easy to park, not crowded, plenty of art and information to discuss as well as great food in the attached restaurant. Great for a day trip in the Bay Area.
Easily one of my favorite museums in the bay. I love that this museum highlights historical art and movements that are important to the bay. The galleries and exhibits are honest, expose injustices, realities, and call people to question how to make meaningful change in our communities. Love this place.
Excellent experience overall, but was disappointed that guests are advised against licking the artwork. That's really something you should mention before tickets are sold, much less the purchase of a membership.
