Bright Mind Preschool

Bright Mind was highly recommended by a dear friend when we relocated back to Old Town Alexandria. When I went for a visit, I was struck by the warmth of the owner, staff and teachers. The student-to-teacher ratio is excellent and the curriculum is innovative. Meals, made onsite, are balanced and healthy. There are opportunities for parent participation including mystery readers, parent volunteers and field trip chaperones. The staff goes out of their way to make the holidays throughout the year feel special. Feedback is welcome and the staff works to address any concerns you may have. We are so happy to be part of the Bright Mind family!

As someone who works in education, I have spent months and months researching child care and preschool options in Alexandria. I wanted a school that focuses on the social and emotional development of the children as well as one that challenged the children academically. We had been spoiled by an in home child care experience for my daughter and never felt at home in the big centers that seemed to approach everything as "you need us more than we need you." When we went to visit Bright Mind I was sold. Small class sizes, teachers and staff who are clearly there for the kids, and lots of play time and interaction. I talked to 6 different families whose kids went there before I took the leap and I'm so glad we did. Their patience with my non stop questions and their flexibility to honor each child's needs individually is fantastic. My shy three year old is flourishing there already and I am so thankful to the school for their warmth and dedication.
