"Dr. Mark H. Whiteford graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his general surgery internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS). He is also a member of the Northwest Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He specializes in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, including laparoscopic procedures and transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM/TAMIS). Dr. Whiteford serves as an Affiliate Professor of Surgery at OHSU and has been invited to teach and lecture for organizations such as the American College of Surgeons.
