"Mount Trashmore Park spans 165 acres, featuring two artificial mountains, two playgrounds, two lakes, a skate park and multi-use paths. The park includes many other eco-friendly amenities. It has an extensive street course, including an above-ground and 7-foot-deep bowl. In the park, kids are flying kites and walking. The park has three large picnic shelters with charcoal grills, two volleyball courts, an outdoor pavilion, therapeutic cradle swing seats, concessions, and outdoor fitness stations. Mount Trashmore Park has an innovative playground designed for children. It is a beautiful place with a large playground for the kids on the back side of the hill.

2026 Update: Mount Trashmore Park is popular for large community events, festivals, and family gatherings, and is known for its signature man-made “mountain” skyline feature visible across Virginia Beach. This park is a famous example of environmental land reuse / eco-park transformation. It is a good place for jogging, walking, and cycling, and many people visit early morning, evening, for fresh air and exercise."

"Red Wing Park is a 97-acre public park featuring Japanese gardens, a cherry blossom festival, trails, sports, and play areas. The park has four tennis courts, four volleyball courts, a basketball court, two handball/racquetball courts, badminton courts, five shelters, three playground areas, nature trails, three softball fields, and four gardens. The park hosts an annual cherry blossom festival, and a shelter reservation is available. Red Wing Park is a beautiful place where people can walk and relax in their free time. The park has two separate playing areas, dog parks, and an excellent playground area for the kids. Red Wing Park has large parking facilities.

"City View Park is an excellent picnic spot with over 43 acres of parkland. The park has four lighted softball fields, a multi-purpose field, picnic shelters with charcoal grills, horseshoe pits, a shared-use path, and vending machines. The park is the perfect spot for family picnics. City View Park allows children and families to connect with nature and recreate outdoors. City View Park has a spacious baseball field, a nice paved trail in the woods, and shelters in the park. The park is lovely, with plenty of space for kids to play. At City View Park, the park provides parking spaces for visitors.

2026 Update: City View Park has multiple playgrounds in different areas of the park and is very family-friendly with shaded picnic spots. It is usually calm and less crowded compared to many city parks, and provides a relaxed outdoor time. It is accessible for people with disabilities and stroller-friendly paths with combines sports facilities and nature in one place."
