Delicious. Friendly staff despite being so busy! Very cool atmosphere and decorations. My only regret is that we ate too fast. Miso soup was really nice. Our favorite was the baby octopus sushi. I can’t remember which roll was which except the Maryland roll with real crab meat - my husband loved it but it was a little bland for me. I guess I like more pizzazz - I’m far from an expert though.

I was told this was the best sushi place in all of VA. Turns out... There was no lie. If you happen to be in the area and love sushi, please stop buy. You won't regret it. Friendly and excellent service. Interesting and plentiful options. And above all, absolutely delivers on flavor. Dragon and firecracker are a must have for anyone wanting a tasty adventure. 10/10 I will return again.

I'm a Korean Air pilot, and during my layover, someone recommended this restaurant to me. I gave it a try, and honestly, it was even better than some of the top sushi places in Japan. The food was incredible—absolutely next-level. I highly recommend it. Seriously, it's the best!

A very quiet and relaxing restaurant with great attention to a customer's needs. I haven't been here in over 5 years and the sushi, fried calamari, and spring rolls are as delicious as ever. Everything that I ordered came out perfectly, tasted amazing, and the serving size was just right. The cost is comparable with local sushi restaurants in the area, but it's my personal opinion that the customer service and quality has an edge over others.

An excellent sushi place off the Little River Turnpike, straddling the line between casual and elegant. Perhaps more old-school than modern, but that doesn't detract from the food and service. Absolutely great place to sit down and chill, or to enjoy a great meal. Doesn't have to be sushi, they also have Thai.

Tried this place after reading the reviews, and it was great! No reservation needed on a Saturday night. We had the Godzilla roll, a spicy tuna roll (forgot the exact name), fried rice, and Pad See Ew—everything was delicious. We’ll be back to try more rolls!

UMIYA SUSHI REVIEWS

First time at Umiya Alexandria. We made a reservation and were seated downstairs, which required walking to the food bar. I was wearing high heels, so I kindly asked the manager if it was possible to move upstairs. Even though the restaurant was very busy, he was incredibly kind and helped us right away. The food was good, but the service truly impressed me the most. Thoughtful, caring, and welcoming that made the whole experience memorable. Would definitely come back again.

We came here for dinner on weekday’s night and the food was delicious. Everything was so fresh and our server was so nice! Recommended to try the salmon carpaccio before you try other dishes, it will open your taste buds and be ready for the rest of your meal.

Very good ???? premium menu favorites were the wagyu spoons, oysters, and all of the nigiri...so everything. Waiter was great and they kept the food coming. Forgot to take a pic of the drinks menu, but there are more cocktails than listed here that are good too.
