TUPELO HONEY REVIEWS
I had a very pleasant experience with our waitress Cheryl. It was my first visit to this beautiful establishment. It gives you a southern Vibe as soon as you walk in. I must say the color scheme definitely screams the wholesome North Carolina vibe! Today I decided to give the waffles and chicken a try but with a little honey twist and a little bite of sriracha!! It was very tasty and the chicken was cooked to perfection and drizzling with that Sriracha honey!!! I would highly recommend this dish if it's your first time here. I definitely will be coming back to enjoy something else on the menu. I saw they had shrimp and grits. I may give that a try! I highly recommend you give this place a try. They won't disappoint!
We went there last night for my birthday and what a wonderful treat it turned out to be. They have the coolest vibe with a relaxed classical elegance and wonderful collection of NC themed art on the walls. Our server arrived quickly and was very kind and professional. The food came out surprisingly fast and all the dishes were as ordered and prepared perfectly. They also have an awesome bar with unique cocktails and several beers on tap. I truly enjoyed every aspect of my meal and I plan to go back often. Go visit them soon because I know you will love it. Also I highly recommend the sriracha honey chicken and waffles; It is a unique dish with the perfect blend of savory, sweet and spicy.
Had a lovely time here. It was Mother’s Day and graduation weekend so things were very busy but overall felt super well attended too, if not a tad rushed in the beginning to order. However, the food was delicious. Portions were generous for the cost. The cocktails and wine were also great. Would absolutely recommend. Staff was super friendly, especially a woman (perhaps a manager?) who made a quick adjustment to seating once she realized my mother needed some mobility accommodations. Check this place out!

POOLE'S REVIEWS
The fantastic casual upscale diner was hidden away downtown. Great friendly service. Chalkboard menu that changes regularly with some interesting takes on southern cuisines reasonable prices. Try the NC snapper schnitzel. Interesting wines to go with. Not sure about charging for bread to go with, but otherwise we’ll worth a visit. Awesome experience in this “diner”. Wine, food, atmosphere, absolutely worth it! Loved the heirloom tomato salad and short ribs. Best ever.
From the outside, you would never expect what is being served on the inside of this place. The quality of food, preparation, presentation and the high attentive caliber of service is just outstanding This is a must stop and from the crowds that show up this place is well known. I’m not a huge Mac and cheese person but it’s great here. We got several sides to share and each person had an entree. Good food in a unique environment. Had to wait about 30 min for a table, but we came expecting that so it was no big deal.
This place is always so good. They also do a great job of having some delicious and unique vegetarian options. There’s a few staple items like their famous Mac and cheese, true southern style, but they usually have new items pretty regularly. Its definitely a Raleigh staple. Cocktails are always top notch too. They have some really great bartenders.

SECOND EMPIRE RESTAURANT AND TAVERN REVIEWS
Definitely one of the top 3 restaurants around Raleigh. The marvelous house was full of history, which the hostess enthusiastically recounted, as well as beautiful artworks many of which were from local artists’ hands. Everything we ordered was superbly executed which leads one to believe this to be true with regard to every other item on the menu. Surely the shrimp, pork belly, scallop, etc were savory and of great texture. And speaking of the entree one could hardly expect a fillet of trout or veal chop more juicy and tender than what we’re offered here. Yet equally or even more laudable were the sides - orange-scented wild rice, saffron risotto, etc. Dazzling, but enjoy! And the dreamy perfect chocolate soufflé (which is a rare find nowadays) to finish. What a night!
The most incredible and memorable experience. My partner took my family and I here for my birthday and surprised me with dinner at the Chef's table in the kitchen. The food and staff are absolutely incredible and delivered an amazing experiencing that still has me smiling a week later. It was a 5-star experience all the way. Despite their incredible talents, everyone was so humble and kind, and they took such excellent care of us. I cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant. It's a true gem!
