2026 Update: Detroit Artists Market is a contemporary art gallery and the oldest continuously operating nonprofit gallery in the Midwest. It is located in Midtown Detroit, near the Detroit Institute of Arts and Wayne State University. The gallery exhibits work by nearly 500 artists living and working in the Metro Detroit area, supporting the local arts community through exhibitions and sales. Miah J. Davis Gardner is the executive director. Each year, Detroit Artists Market facilitates the sale of approximately $100,000 in original artwork and distributes around $66,000 in commissions to nearly 500 local artists, contributing to the regional creative economy. The gallery is free and open to the public. Parking is available in designated spaces behind the building, as well as in nearby paid lots and on surrounding streets.
