As a self proclaimed food critic, Maya bagels were amazing. I've had bagels all over the USA. I did not think anyone could top New York bagels but I have to say the Lox on a everything bagel was simply divine. Will definitely return before leaving Louisville to purchase a variety to take home. Bravo!!!.

Never been before! Absolutely so delicious, i got the turkey club. The bacon was cooked so well, and the flavor of the turkey was fantastic. The guy working was so super nice to but i didn’t get his name - he was also bilingual which was cool. Love!!! Will go again.

This has become a fairly regular quick breakfast spot for us. The bagels are large, fresh, and delicious. The cream cheese spreads are great. We love the fresh scallion variety. I love the pastrami on an everything bagel. The best New York style bagels in town are here.

PAYNE STREET BAKE HOUSE REVIEWS

Stroll along the Beargrass Creek Trail until you reach its end, where you'll find yourself in a neighborhood harboring this gem of a bakery. This spot is renowned for serving the city's best breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches. While the menu remains consistent, they keep things exciting with seasonal drinks that change with each holiday or season throughout the year. Be prepared for crowds; space inside is limited, and parking outside can be tight. However, if you manage to swing by, it's an experience worth having!.

I really enjoyed the bagel sandwich here and will make sure to come back and try other items on their menu. I was looking for a sandwich and found this place, but it’s obviously more than sandwiches. I went with the chicken salad on everything bagel, and it was fantastic. The cinnamon roll looked especially good so I’ll have to come back and give it a try. There are some indoor seating options or you can get it to go. Worth a visit for sure.

Insanely good spot to grab a breakfast sandwich. Be warned that this is seemingly known amongst all of Louisville, because this place is PACKED on a weekend morning. But despite the long lines and many bodies, I still found service to be fast and there to be a good amount of seating. Their bagels are so fresh and fluffy and the sandwiches are packed to the brim and will keep you full for 1/2 the day.

The person who made my breakfast sandwiches was patient, thorough, and effective. My sandwiches were beautifully put together and delicious. Vanilla cold brew was good but very sweet. Might get it unflavored next time. Inside was clean and organized. Lots of open seating when I came by.

I just have to say this place is so genuine in customer service! I have to give a shout out to the manager. I can tell that he likes his job and that he is great with his staff! He always has a smile on his face and really is super nice.

A friend introduced me to this place and I feel like I’ve been missing out. The bagels here are really good, and the sandwiches are delicious. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and it hit the spot. It’s got both indoor and outdoor seating, and the prices are reasonable. Service was fast and friendly.
