RIVER HOUSE RESTAURANT AND RAW BAR REVIEWS

The experience is exceptional. The ambient was really nice as it is very warm and cozy as they have plenty of fireplace in the seating area near the river. They cooked and seasoned the seafood carefully. One of surprises is the homemade cornbread. It could be one of the most delicious cornbread have ever tasted. The service is excellent. Therefore, we enjoyed every dishes and had a very happy meal.

Excellent service, atmosphere was good, food was mostly good. The first appetizer was a shrimp ceviche with some chips that were better left in the bag. The second appetizer was the fried oysters and they were exceptional. The sampler included scallops that were cooked perfectly. The risotto was well prepared, could have used some oomph. The cornbread was good, as close to Jiffy as could be. Otherwise excellent as expected.

What an overall fantastic experience. The food was phenomenal, the service was exquisite, and the atmosphere was the cherry on top. Drove from Lexington, KY & WILL return. The seasonal lump crab stuffed squash blossoms (pictured) will live rent free in my head for years to come.

JOE'S CRAB SHACK REVIEWS

There’s a good view of the river, the service is friendly, and the food is rather good. The Joe’s Sampler Platter was a wonderful appetizer, and I got the East Coast Platter as my entree; it was pretty good, though the crab cakes weren’t my favorite. Overall, this is a wonderful place to eat at. I would visit again, if given the opportunity.

Bobbi Jo was FANTASTIC! So attentive & quick. Every bite was delicious & we loved sitting out on the deck in the sunshine but the best part of our experience was the service Bobbi Jo provided for us! Such a pleasure.

I enjoyed this restaurant. The waitress was nice and pleasant. She was helpful making suggestions to someone who has never been there. Her service went above and beyond anticipating my needs.

MIKE LINNIG'S RESTAURANT REVIEWS

Walk to the window out front to place your order. She'll hand you a receipt and cups. They'll call your name on the intercom when your order is ready to be picked up inside. We ate outside. They have the most tables I've ever seen outside. They have 3 swing sets and two playgrounds. Multiple gazebos are available to eat at. It's a very quiet and nice place. The to go boxes and bags are next to the drink machines.

This was my first time, which came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, hot, and fresh. The proportions were generous, and the service was great as well. There's a beautiful view from just about every seat in the house, which creates a sanctuary-like setting. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I can’t express how much I love this place! 5th generation customer and the food and service is always top tier. This place is a true gem and well represents Louisville with 100 years of history. The atmosphere is also very classical Louisville in its own special way.
