TOP 3 THE ACME BREAD COMPANY REVIEWS
Being from out of town, I was a little surprised to see a line outside this little bakery, though it's something locals readily accept as an every day normality. But Wow. It's worth the wait. The line is because there is only room for maybe 4 people inside the retail area of the bakery. The rest of the building is used for making, well, baked goods. Everything we bought was totally fresh, and had great taste and texture. We especially liked the sweet baguette and the sour dough bread. Don't be intimidated by the line. It's worth the wait. Good job, Acme Bakery.
One of the few places that lives up to the hype. I saw a long line snaking outside and it took us 20 min to enter the store. I had high expectations and I was not disappointed. We ate have the bread we bought in the car before we arrived home. The pain epis and sourdough were the best but we obviously have not tried 5 percent of what is on offer. I will try more variety in the future and update my review.
Wow. The tastiest and freshest bread ever. I’d definitely go on Tuesday/ thursdays for their jalapeño cheese bread. They only have their cookies on Friday/ Saturday so make sure to go there so you don’t miss out. I went at 8am and there was already a line.

TOP 3 FOURNÉE BAKERY REVIEWS
Being a fan of great bakeries, my daughter encouraged us to visit the Fournee Bakery on Domingo Street located across the street from The Claremont Hotel & Spa. While there was no name on the front of the bakery , we assumed we were in the right place because of the ling line of customers waiting to place their orders inside . If you’re smart, you’ll order online and then you can walk right in and avoid what could easily be a half hour wait! There’s a very good reason why people were waiting to get their sandwiches, breads and desserts, everything we ate was delicious.
Local hidden Diamond bakery located at inner Berkeley, next to the Fairmont hotel. We ordered croissant, scones and some more. Very tasty and special, especially the walnut scone, unlike the others , it’s not too sweet but the favor of the nuts is highly enhanced, the unique taste made it outstanding among other bakeries.
Just the best bread and best patisserie we know in the Bay. Would be in the top 5% in France. Prices reasonable for the quality. You can make reservations over the phone, not online yet.

TOP 3 MASSE'S PASTRIES REVIEWS
Masse’s is the most phenomenal pastry shop in the Bay Area. The croissants are simply the best I’ve ever had. We ordered a chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant and a guava cheesecake and everything was outstanding. The croissants are so beautifully light, flaky, buttery and fresh like they are flown in fresh daily from Paris (but they’re not. They are lovingly made fresh every day right here). The owners, Paul and Marcia, are so kind and engaging and obviously love what they do. They have a passion for their food and traditions that you don’t see much any more. I can’t wait to get back and try more of their brilliant, traditionally prepared food.
Excellent coffee, pastry is delicious and whipped cream is very creamy and not sweet, exactly right topping for fruit tart! Definitely coming back. I want to try everything! The staff is friendly, helpful and fast. I'll bring my friends here for sweet treat.
Split the mini tiramisu, a contemporary take on this classic dessert, clean and smooth, light with a hint of sweetness. I haven’t had the cake in 20 years and will be back for it! I added a photo of the other cakes, because the presentation is exquisite, from the gold leaf to the white roses.
