3 Best Cafe in Milwaukee, WI

Extremely good vibe right on the lakefront. It’s not a local hangout with lots of students and a tourist spot as well. We went on the weekend on a day that was a little cooler, so only indoor seating. This caused waits for everything and they could only take cash or apps. Still, they handled it well and everyone still waited. Why? Because it’s first an incredible space in a rehabbed pumping station, where they still have some old pumps. Second, great coffee. And most of our food was on point. The cookie was scratch and delicious. Avocado toast was good, maybe a little more flavor would help. I enjoyed a sausage and egg sandwich. They deliver. You need to go.

This is by far our favorite location for Collectivo coffee. The building is such a cool spot to hang out. On the warmer weather days, the seating outside is great. During the colder weather months, it's a little tougher to find seating inside if any is available. There is limited parking in the parking lot, but across the street there is a decent sized public parking lot available. The cranberry orange muffin is definitely something to try if you need a quick snack. We enjoyed coming here and will be back in the future.

So worth the stop while traveling through. My oat milk latte and cranberry pumpkin muffin were exquisite! The atmosphere with the yacht club across the way, the historic building and outdoor relaxed seating. One of the best!

A long-standing east side institution for good reasons. The menu options, food, and service are excellent. We had the hummus appetizer, the Rachel sandwich, tomato soup, and compact turkey dinner. We also took home a couple of slices of their HoneyPie offerings. Very casual diner atmosphere that also has a full bar. Seating at either the bar or booths. Outdoor seating on the sidewalk during warmer months. Each side of the bar features one TV, so this isn’t a place for those looking to catch a game - it’s more of a social setting. I saw only one bathroom, which is unisex, which is dated but functional and clean. As with most places in this area, there is no parking lot. I was able to find free street parking within a block at 5:00pm on a Saturday.

Enjoyed out first visit to Comet Cafe this evening. We both ordered the compact Turkey Dinner. I loved it, perfect comfort food! ‘Nitro Left Hand Milk Stout’ beer also very tasty. Food Service was a touch slow, but not in a hurry; we will return!

It lived up to the hype. The sandwich had simple ingredients but complex flavors and the fries were crisp with just enough salt. The GM was entertaining and the server was on point. Great place for a quick bite.
