Jake Levin operated the business until his retirement in 1969, when a group of local investors, including Bud Selig, bought the deli to keep the already famous delicatessen open and thriving. Father and son Irv and Mike Kassoff then operated the deli for almost 40 years until Mike decided to move on and sell his ownership stake to the current managing partner, Gary Plassmeyer. Gary has over 20 years of restaurant experience and is excited to carry on and grow the Jake's Deli tradition in Milwaukee.
