Hadn't been in 20 years. Still delicious. Took my husband and it was the best he has ever tried. We lucked out and there was no wait. Small cramped place if you've never been but I like the feel. Not a place to go for a private meal out. I loved everything we ordered. Although...they put peanut sauce on the onion pancake which was still delicious and we ate so much before noticing that it didn't matter. Yummy!

This is an awesome spot to grab dinner! The dumplings were amazing, and the chili soy sauce was perfect! I also ordered their "world famous" sesame chicken with sweet potatoes and it did not disappoint! I will definitely be coming back the next time I come to town! I was jealous of a few tables that ordered the fried rice... they do it right at the table on a sizzling plate! Super fun to watch!

This was a fascinating experience as you can literally tell your wait staff how hungry you are and what dietary restrictions you have and they will bring enough delicious food for you without you having to even think about it. It was a lovely meal!

As an Asian from an Asian country, you can’t get closer to home from this. Preserving most of the authentic tastes, the food really blessed my taste buds and we were really impressed with the food. Some of the dishes which I personally like was the Cold Dish Chicken and the Peking Duck, meat was tender and sauce fit the meat perfectly.

If you’re planning to visit, make sure to pre-order their crisp y chicken skin wrapped sticky rice at least a day in advance. It’s seriously delicious. This place has always been my top pick for family gatherings or dinners with a group of friends. The dishes are perfect for sharing and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

We have been coming to the restaurant for 20 years and the food is always excellent. We tried the mushrooms and veggies, seafood clay pot and veggie fried rice. To celebrate we ordered the elderflower drink

Fantastic food and the best service in SF! We had a great experience at China Live for a NYE dinner. Our waiter was even better than the food—he was so genuine and gave us perfect recommendations. We tried a huge variety: the Sheng Jian Bao (pan-fried dumplings), Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), Crushed Cucumber Skins, Yangzhou Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chicken, Wok Seared Filet Mignon, and Sichuan Blistered Green Beans. The dumplings and the cucumber skins were absolute favorites, as was the Kung Pao chicken. The filet mignon was delicious, though the portion was a bit on the smaller side. Everything came out incredibly fast! We finished with Cindy’s pineapple walnut spice carrot cake and the Amaretto bread pudding, both of which were highlights of the night. Highly recommend!

China Live is absolutely outstanding! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared — even my toddler loved it. The drinks are exceptional and the service is friendly and professional. Everything feels high-quality yet welcoming. One of the best dining experiences in San Francisco. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing lunch at China Live, the dumplings were amazing but our favorite dish was the bbq pork and bok Choi on rice. I highly recommend visiting this place next time you’re in SF.
