"Anchorage Music & Dance Center aims to offer a variety of dance classes to students from preschool age to teens. Their studios are equipped with floating "Marley" dance floors, which help reduce the risk of injury and allow students to dance longer without getting tired. The Anchorage Music and Dance Centre is celebrating 30 years of providing private and group music lessons and 15 years of dance lessons. Weekly 1-hour classes include about 55 minutes of instruction & 45-minute classes include approximately 40 minutes of instruction. Their summer dance schedule runs from June through August. They offer a variety of classes and camps over the summer, including a camp designed for students who wish to be considered for their performance dance company, Evolution Dance.

2026 Update: The Anchorage Music & Dance Centre is a unique school offering quality private and group music and dance classes in one convenient location. Students from the same family can take private or group lessons in music and dance on the same day."

I cannot recommend this dance studio more! I was having trouble at first finding a dance studio in Alaska, but I’m so glad that I found this one because hands-down this one is the best. Michelle, the main teacher was so helpful in guiding me through the difficult journey of always wanting to dance, but not sure where to start, what classes to do and how to get moving forward. I’ve been going six weeks now and I absolutely love it so much. I’m finally doing what I’ve always dreamed of doing and loving it. you don’t have to be crazy talented or all the other things. There are multiple instructors that guide you and help you through it such an incredible time and I’m excited to continue onto the next class.

I highly recommend Alaska Dance Promotions. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at ease. The instructors are fantastic, offering easy-to-follow lessons that cater to all levels, whether you're an absolute beginner or a returning dancer, looking to refine your skills. The passion for dance here is contagious, plus the price of classes can't be beat. It's wonderful to have such a vibrant dance community here in Alaska, and I feel luck to be a part of it! Michelle is so nice and funny! The teachers are patient and I learn so much about Latin dancing every time I go! The Friday nights are my favorite thing to go to.

ADT is amazing!! The teachers are kind and supportive, the studios are welcoming and clean, the staff is friendly, and a wide range of classes and styles are offered, from creative movement for young children to hip-hop, jazz, acro, and modern to advanced ballet for older students. I love Alaska Dance Theatre and can’t wait to keep dancing here.

This year we switched from Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy to Alaska Dance Theater, we are so glad we made the switch! ADT's teachers are amazing with my girls, they felt so welcomed and comfortable, great at communicating with parents and overall very professional. The studio is fantastic at communicating news, events and information to the parents, really a so glad to be at ADT.

My daughter has loved dancing at ADT for the past 2 years. I have been impressed with the technical training, skilled teachers, opportunities for performances, and the overall kind, supportive atmosphere. I would highly recommend ADT.

ANCHORAGE MUSIC & DANCE CENTER REVIEWS

Both my 5 year old and 8 year old daughters are enrolled at AMDC. Ms. Carly is the ballet teacher for my 5 year old (who is very shy and doesn’t interact much with other kids). Ms. Carly works with her well and ensures that she feels included in all the group activities. As the school year ends, I can see progress in my daughter’s social skills through being enrolled in her class. Ms. Annie has been such a great ballet teacher to my 8 year old. She gets the help and feedback that she needs and makes each class enjoyable. Both my daughters are learning a lot of dance techniques and look forward to their lessons every week.

I absolutely love the piano lessons my kids have at AMDC. Their teachers are very engaging and are quite responsive to the kid's specific style and pace of learning. It has also been amazing to see how well they pivoted to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. My kids have not slowed progress on piano thanks to Zoom, Ian, and Michael.

My daughter just began singing lessons and my son started drum lessons here with Lisa and so far we are really happy with the teachers, staff and level of service! They were very accommodating with my kids schedules, everyone has been friendly and communication is great. Highly recommend.
