3 Best Dance Schools in Jacksonville, FL

We took dance lessons at Monarch Ballroom & Dance Studio for our first dance as husband and wife. Ashley and Osmar were our main instructors, but when one of them wasn’t available the owner Krista, volunteered to help us. They were professional, patient, and generally just amazing! They were knowledgeable about planning a choreography that worked with the song we had chosen, but they asked for our input every step of the way. They made sure we felt comfortable with the routine and if we didn’t like certain steps they offered alternatives. They let us take videos of them dancing so we would have reminders of the steps when we went home to practice. They also, offered to take videos of us dancing so we can see our progress. They encouraged us during every lesson we had. We went for a lesson nearly every week and those lessons were the highlight of the week. We enjoyed ourselves so much. We intend to buy more lessons and keep dancing.

Just out of a chance we happen to stumble upon a few of the dance instructors of Monarch Ballroom and Dancing out at a restaurant listening to music. My now husband and I were looking for a band for our wedding and we happen out of chance to find the perfect dance instructor instead. Ashley was an excellent teacher! Ashley transformed my husband's lack of dance moves - you could say he had two left feet - to dancing in a full choreographed dance for our first dance at our wedding. We learned spins, dips, and different styles of dancing between the rumba and bachata. We felt very confident the day of our wedding for our first dance and even learned other styles and moves that we were able to dance along to any song throughout the evening.

One of the best dance studios in town. My sister took dance lessons there years ago and she still remembers her entire bronze dance lesson program. Their attention to detail is great and they truly care about all of their students, not just their dancing but care about them as a person. I’ve seen new lovers find each other on their dance floor, dancers healing from past traumas, true overall personal growth all happening in that studio! Some call it magic, but it’s truly authentic daily hard work, and having a support group. Definitely worth a try.
