USS ORLECK NAVAL MUSEUM REVIEWS

Highly recommend! Fantastic tour on the USS Orleck while enjoying conversations with the veterans who sailed on her in times of battle and in times of peace keeping missions too. Truly impressive, spectacular and magnificent. Very proud that she is home here in Jacksonville. Special thanks to all the veterans who have served in the past and those who are now serving in the Navy. Thanks as well to all who donated to help restore her back to original condition and to those who still support this beautiful Naval Museum. We visit her each year and learn something new each time. Thank you all - job well done!

This place was absolutely fantastic and we appreciated all the men there that were that were so willing to answer all of our questions. Every single person we encountered was so welcoming and informative! The ship was so well maintained and it was amazing to be able to go at our own pace through the self guided tour, taking the time to read all of the placards. Our family already appreciates all branches of military but some sections brought tears to our eyes and built out an even greater respect for our Navy. We are thankful for all service members!

I've been to a number of Naval museums on both coasts- while this is a "smaller" ship, it is one of the best tours I've had. The staff were friendly and extremely informative. You can access nearly all areas, the route is well marked, and the interactive portions are excellent. It's also one of the least expensive. It's easy to get to, plenty of parking, and you can easily enjoy it in a couple hours. Very well done.

BEACHES MUSEUM REVIEWS

Beautiful museum! Shout out to Mr Tim and Jim for making our toddler's day special! In addition to the hiatorical train in the History Gardens, there is also a functional miniature train onsite that whistles and moves about a mock 19th century Jax Beach - my son LOVED it! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, the grounds are well-kept and the indoor exhibit is wonderfully curated. Little gem in Jax Beach - super family/kid friendly! It was our first time and we'll definitely be back again! Thanks, Tim and Jim!

Really great way to spend a few hours. They have permanent and changing exhibits as well as the train and the out buildings. The staff/volunteers were super friendly. The best part there is no fee but I do suggest some kind of token donation to help jeep it going

My family and I arrived later in the day but still had plenty of time to tour the main building. The staff is super nice and everything is very clean and well maintained. They have a nice array of cool exhibits and interesting things. We especially enjoyed learning about the Black History in the Jacksonville area. We would definitely return again to tour the rest of the museum, especially the chapel.

MANDARIN MUSEUM & HISTORICAL SOCIETY REVIEWS

Taking place every Easter weekend, this event is a must attend for the $2 donation. We enjoyed the variety of art genres represented. The green area had many food-type vendors selling hot sauce, dips, snacks, and more. There was also a section with a variety of food trucks and a large, covered seating area to door and eat and live entertainment throughout the day.

The Mandarin Museum and Historical Society is a phenomenal spot to dive into the history of Jacksonville's Mandarin area. You'll find well-preserved artifacts, engaging exhibits, and super informative guides. It's a great place to really appreciate the local heritage—a must-see for any history buff!

Absolutely beautiful hidden landmark loaded with our city's amazing history. Our docent was so informative & museum well worth a visit. True Florida landscape through out park & well maintained.
