JAMES L. NETTERVILLE, MD - VANDERBILT BILL WILKERSON CENTER REVIEWS
God has truly bless me by putting Dr. Netterville and his team in my life to beat cancer. Five star ratings does not give Dr. Netterville the justification he deserves. I found out I had medullary thyroid carcinoma the day after my wife and I had out first baby ultrasound. Needless to say we went from a extreme happy time to a very scary time in our life. The local doctor I was going to us I had heard horrible stories about and wanted a specialist. I spoke with a friend of a friend that had used Dr. Netterville and could not speak of him highly enough, the next day I had my general doctor refer me into Dr. Netterville. Once Dr. Netterville walked into our consultation all our fear went away. As my wife and I were sitting there talking to Dr. Netterville we inform him that we are expecting our first baby and we had just found out the day before it’s going to be a boy. He informed us that I’m not going to be able to get out of raising kids and that I’m going to be able to see him grow up. In my consultation Dr. Netterville made sure that my wife and I knew what all was going on once I was in surgery and what to expect after my surgery/recovery. Dr. Netterville took his time to answered all our questions and any concerns we had and never made us feel like we were wasting his time. Two weeks after my surgery Dr. Will (Dr. Netterville resident) called me to give me my pathology report and there wasn’t any cancer in my lymph nodes and was all isolated in my thyroid gland and they got all my cancer out!
Dr. Netterville treated me. He was a referral from an ENT in Evansville, Indiana, after an x-ray technician discovered a tumor between my carotid artery and jugular vein. This was a challenging surgery, as the tumor was also wrapped around my vocal chords and craniofacial nerves, and there was a real concern that I would lose my ability to speak. I was 20 years-old and pursuing a journalism degree, so verbal communication felt like a must. Long story short, Dr. Netterville was such a huge comfort from our first consultation to post-op. His easy-going spirit gave me peace and his deft surgical abilities left me with a voice to speak, a life to live, and a scar that's pretty well concealed. He's humble, careful, very skilled, and makes time for his patients. To me, he's the absolute best of the best of physicians. I couldn't recommend him more.
I had a total thyroidectomy at another hospital and it went very badly. The doctors found cans in places they had never seen. While removing it they tore a 5” hole in my throat! I was transferred to Vanderbilt after getting badly infected because the repair the first team did didn’t work. I was so sick I had given up and was just waiting to go. From the moment dr Netterville came in the room he was kind and encouraging and he gave me hope. I was in surgery within 2 hours. His team fixed everything and was so kind as well. I am a singer and public speaker and the doctor made it a priority to make sure he did all he could to make sure I had my voice back after multiple complicated surgeries. The next day my throat closed and I coded. I was dead for almost 4 minutes but netterville steam was just down the hall and they brought me back!!!! I woke up in the icu with a trach and unable to speak. I cannot tell you how increasingly Netterville and his team were. Just head and shoulders above the other staff even. They would come so often to care for me and encourage me and because they kept me positive I was able to walk out of the hospital just 6 days after I died. If you are considering a head neck surgery I cannot recommend anyone more highly. God used this man to save me 2x.

DANIEL D. VINER, MD - OTOLARYNGOLOGY ASSOCIATES OF TENNESSEE, LLC REVIEWS
I really liked dr viner he’s patient he spends his time he’s very knowledgeable but I scheduled an appt for me and my son and had to wait for over a month. They call me Monday saying Dr viner needs to be out on our appt day and his next avail isn’t until may!! It’s March! If I cancel my appt you’re able to just fill it again. Or catch up on other appts. They just called And are having to work me in but why overbook the drs? There needs to be a backup in place for things like this.
It is rare to meet a person as compassionate and gifted as Dr. Viner. He is a brilliant doctor and diagnostician and has been an incredible help to me as I worked to regain my health. He is a fantastic listener and looks at symptoms from a holistic perspective which given his expertise as a surgeon is amazing. We are so lucky to have a doctor of his caliber here in Nashville. He is truly one of the finest anywhere.
I and several family members have Been seeing Dr VINER for many years. He has done sinus surgery on me. I find him to be very thorough and explains in a way you can understand. Sometimes the wait is long but I don’t mind as I know if I need his time when he sees me I will get it.

RICHARD W. QUISLING, MD REVIEWS

I'm a full time, professional singer so staying healthy is my number one priority in life. I've been to Dr. Q a couple times now. He is an unusual doctor who works fast and talks in terminology that will baffle some folks. But he is the best that I've found in the business at telling you what is wrong (even when you have no idea what gland or body organ he is talking about) and giving you something to fix it, FAST. It's a whirlwind of an experience as he takes you room to room in his office doing all these different things to you. Today I got an x-ray of my sinus cavity, a shot in the arm of something I still don't know what it was, some sort of nasal washing, a steam treatment of some sorts, and an ultrasound of two spots on my lower mid back on each side all in a matter of 10mins (or less)!!! It was wild. But my sinuses are now finally clearing out this afternoon after being clogged for 3 weeks!! Yes the experience will be different from other doctors but this guy knows his stuff. He gives great advice on how to prevent issues from allergies and for sinus infections. And he really does seem to care about getting people better and helping them prevent having to come to him which is amazing to see in a doctor these days. Most just want to medicate and have ya come back. Great ENT. Expect a whirlwind experience but he is worth it cause you will feel much better afterwards.
